Potpourri has long been a staple for scenting homes across America due to its rich and lasting scent. Now it is easy to go green and create your own potpourri at home with materials from your own backyard. Gather them quick and take advantage of the harvest from your garden.
Ingredients and Supplies:
Large Mixing Bowl with Lid
1 ½ cups of dried wood chips
3 cups of dried flower petals
½ cup of cloves
1 tsp cinnamon oil
1 tsp apple oil
Mix the wood chips, flower petals, and cloves in bowl. Add the oil slowly, a few drops at a time, mixing in between. Place the lid on the bowl and allow to cure for 2-3 weeks.
Wasn’t that easy? It’s a great project to do with older children to get them in the harvest spirit. Potpourri makes great little gifts to go along with that award winning pumpkin pie recipe you plan to Google.
